Barca, Barca, Barca(lona!) - FCB Stadium & Sagrada Familia
Hola from Barcelona. We've already seen so much since we've been here...the rest of the fam is enjoying one last siesta in Spain, so I thought I'd catch you up.
Transport showed up at 6:40 this morning to get us from Santander to Bilboa. Once at the Bilboa airport, we enjoyed some treats
and boarded our plane. It was a quick hour long ride to Barcelona...where Zack got more and more excited about our planned trip to see the stadium.
The boys were rocking their matching Barcelona jerseys...and Zoe was rocking, well, sequins and a messy ponytail.
We took a taxi to our hotel, Hotel Azul, and dropped our bags.
And we were off! We briefly checked out Plaza Espana on our way to the Metro station. (BTW, it's bike week in Barcelona...like Harley bike week).
We jumped on a Metro and arrived at the futbol stadium. Zack and Chris were pretty darn excited.
Of course, we had to take one of two great futbol coaches...
and two great futbol players...
Before heading through the futbol megastore that was at the end of the Camp Nuo experience. Afterwards, we hopped on the closest Metro and hightailed it to Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia is a church that has been in the works since 1883 - and could be completed sometime in the first third of the 21st century. It is the brainchild of Antoni Gaudi. It's pretty awesome stuff...
Afterwards, we took another Metro back to the hotel for siesta time (passing a Dunkin' on the way...thinking of you L and Pop Pop!)
We checked into our hotel - which seems pretty nice, washed feet, (the kids got all excited that we do in fact have another butt washer), and settled in. The views from our room are pretty cool...
On tap for this evening...Las Ramblas, and a cable car to see the sights of Montjuic - and at least two sets of tapas and cerveza! Besos! XOXO, Benderz
