Europe goes Volt - Day 6 - Training with Everton, exploring Liverpool, Beatles museum and Liverpool Cathedral, and Everton and Liverpool stadium

Day 6 was fantastic...do I sound like a broken record? So many new experiences and memories. Trying to soak in every single moment...but time is flying. Breakfast at the hotel and then back with Super Dave, our coach driver, for a quick trip over to Ellesmere Port Sports Village. The boys had a training session with a Wolverhampton FC youth coach. The facility was a local recreational complex. So nice!!

After the session, we joked about the boys taking showers in the changing rooms - but nobody had towels and it was 5 pounds for a hand towel. So..they got on the bus stinky, again. We did make them stash their nasty, nasty backpacks and cleats in the bottom of the bus...which made things just a little bit better. Then we were on our way to Liverpool to explore. Dave dropped us off at Albert Docks to grab lunch.

Crazy purse maker - pick your leather color, your style, add your embossing, wait for it to be finished. They even had volt leather! I know what I'm asking for for my birthday!!

Look who else we found...

As a group we took on the Beatles Museum. It was a self-guided audio tour - that took some of us much longer than others. It was so cool to hear the history behind the Beatles. The music in the background wasn't too shabby either.

Unfortunately, this was as close as we got to Abbey Road. But JD did a great job letting me take a picture. I so wanted to get a picture of Chris, Zack and I walking the road - and be able to photoshop Zoe in in her leotard. But our schedule these last few days is pretty tight.

Waiting for the stragglers to finish...(the whole Bender family).

Then it was on to walk over to the Liverpool Cathedral. Beautiful, amazing walk. I happened to grab some bonbons (like Laffy Taffy, but less sticky) that the boys enjoyed on the walk. That little burst of sugar made that hike uphill doable :)

We walked by Chinatown...no time to walk though, but it looked super cool.

The boys in front of the amazing Liverpool Cathedral

We will do ANYTHING to get the perfect picture for y'all.

Scenes from inside...

After the Cathedral, Super Dave picked us back up. On the way on to the bus, we walked by a throng of people outside of a school. Dave said that a bunch of them had been there five hours of more. Apparently, Sir Paul McCartney was in there teaching a class. When we announced that, one of the boys followed with "who?" Remember, we had just taken the 1.5 hour of Beatles history.

Next up was quick visits to have their pictures taken at both the Overton and the Liverpool Stadiums.

Then back to the hotel - another really yummy dinner, and some hotel exploring. Lynn took things to a different level - we did get busted though...

Another night ended at the bar. I think here we are "sharing" drinks with Chantelle - who is in London. We miss you Chantelle!

This is my nightly picture from Zoe. The optional girls at Starlight with the guy from Lightning City who comes to deliver and fix their equipment. He's a hit at practice when he comes :) All for now! Game tomorrow vs. Wolverhampton. Cheers!!
